"Belen?" I blinked up at him. As usual, he was shining brightly, although he'd dampened it so I might look at him.
"Lissa, this is certainly the beginning." He gazed around us. At leveled homes and devastated bodies.
I understood what he said. All too clearly. It had been my suspicion, but I was too afraid to voice it aloud, as if saying it might make it real. It didn't need my words to make it real. It had already become real. The God Wars were upon us. "It'll only get worse, won't it?" I whispered.
"If this is not stopped," Belen lowered his head as if in thought. "Either the opposing forces know something we don't, or evidence we do not have indicates that the three are now revealed."
"You don't know who all three are, do you?" I shivered.
"We know of the Mighty Hand—he has revealed himself to us, but he has placed himself behind a shield only the strongest might breach, and to my knowledge only the One might get past Strength's barrier. One other we have both felt," he nodded slightly to me. Neither of us was willing to speak Breanne's name aloud. She was in enough danger, I think, and I didn't want to add to that.
"The other I cannot say, although we have seen evidence," Belen sighed. He hesitated for a moment, as if he wanted to say something else and then thought better of it.
"I am afraid to say what I might think about this," Belen murmured instead. "It worries me that even the quietest voice might be heard if I speak my suspicions about this. Lissa, there's something you do not know," Belen continued.
"What's that?"
"I only removed the mind cloud from your son. The others—it had already been removed when I arrived to do it."
"What?" I stared at Belen.
"Someone quite powerful arrived before I did. I believe Gavin and Cheedas benefited from a visit from one of the others. At this time, I cannot say—am afraid to say—which it might have been."
"I don't understand this," I rubbed my forehead.
"Lissa, do not make yourself ill, I beg," Belen knelt next to me. "We must be strong and vigilant in the coming days. It is up to us to do what we can to protect innocents during these times. As much as we can, for as long as we can. We cannot say if our enemies are destroying these lives, attempting to draw one or more of the Three out. After all, if one of them falls or turns to the other side, all will be lost. More than one destroyed will only hasten our demise."
"This is the flaw, isn't it?" I sighed.
"Yes. This is the flaw," he agreed.

Reading her wonderful world of magic, Gods, Vamps, Wolves, etc
& mayhem rocks me to my core!
I read all the Series more times than I can count
I just can't put it down. I even have the audio version of
the first 3 Blood Destiny
(Suttle) books. I hope they put all 25 books 26 when First
Ordinance Book 3 comes out.
The connections in all Series read in the following order
really answers a lot of questions:

5. First Ordinance
I don't want to spoil the excitement by blurting out
secrets; others have already

Blood Trouble God Wars Book 2 eBook Connie Suttle Reviews
I enjoyed this book a lot but it became a little confusing at times. There were to many names and characters brought up that I had to go back to previous books to look them up. I am looking good to the next book. I just wish that it will be over a month until it comes out. The end of the book was a cliff hanger.
Totally enjoyed this series. Very well written. The characters were real with real insecurities that I related to. Parts made me weep, so if the books can bring out that kind of emotion, they are worth the time to read.
No one knows how to make her heroines suffer like Connie Suttle. Sometimes I think she goes overboard on that, which is why Blood Trouble got 4 stars and not 5. The story is good and the characters engaging but I don't understand why the girl puts up with so much crap when she has so much power. Still I'm hanging on the cliff waiting for the next installment.
I love anything that Connie Suttle writes (except the "young audience" books). However if I had one critique, it is that I wish there was a glossary of sorts in each book. I have read these from the start of her writings about "Lissa" and alot of the old characters will pop up and there are so many, that I can't recall the background on some of them. CAN'T WAIT FOR (GOD WARS, BOOK 3)!!!!
I have read all these books--each story of different characters--but in the end they all come together as one story full of action suspense other worlds and awesome characters . Totally and different spin on vampires, werewolves and all sorts of beasties-even gods. These books have made me laugh, cry and even mad a time or too. I like the way the heroines have all suffered abuse in their past to overcome and evolve. I anxiously await the next installment
Love the characters, wizards, demons, vampire kings and queens and the interconnected story lines. You must read Lissa's story before Breanne. Hank is a dominant (lol) and Bree is so traumatized! Gotta read the next one.
Much as I enjoyed Blood Wars series (ten of them) I found this series less original as a second outing of a human turned vampire unwillingly.
With Blood Wars Lissa's trials were at once awesome with regard to her powers and sense of what was right - and annoying with regard to her subservience to a myriad of mates (husband by any other name) except occasionally when she did what she wanted.
Breanne's story in God Wars was so similar to Lissa's that I lost a lot of interest by this book as I didn't think I was learning about a new characters. I was sad to do so.
With a good, solid and professional editor in her corner, Ms Suttle's subsequent tales could have still been a rollicking good story - but without the cloned characters. She has a fabulous imagination and can build great worlds. She is also incredibly prolific.
Note I had bought all five of The God Wars series so I persevered to the end but it was a bit of a slog.
If I had read this series before Blood Wars I would have labelled it a rollicking good yarn in need of a good editor but would have enjoyed it. Two such similar series means I probably won't buy the other two series by this prolific writer just in case.
If I were going to encourage you to read a series of Ms Suttle's it would be the Blood Wars Series (ten).
